About Us

Gypsum Elementary School (GES) is a Pre-K through 5th-grade school serving the community of Gypsum. GES uses dual language instruction and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) practices to ensure every student is career-, college-, and culture-ready to follow their dreams. The environment is caring, collaborative, and student-focused, encouraging all students, teachers, and parents to take pride in the school. Gypsum Elementary believes, “These are ALL our kids, each and every one.” GES was recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Colorado Department of Education and is led by Principal Mitch Forsberg, a Colorado National Distinguished Principal of the Year.
